I'm so happy that you finally are able to visit our website!!! In the end, we thought it would never be set up!
So in October 2006, we started off from Al Khobar for five days of camping and two nights at the hotel : I must say that I did prefer the camping to the hotel but after the long way to go to the Emirates and before coming back to Saudi, it still was a nice treat.
Why did I prefer the camping? Well mainly, I felt so close to the natural surroundings; at night everything was so quite and before tucking in we could admire the moon in the sky full of stars. This is something I did not see in long time and made me think of the skies in Africa and Madagascar where we have been staying a few years back! (but that will be the subject of yet another website....)
On my point of view there was only one bug and I'm sure that other people will agree with me: at one of our camping spots, we found that previous campers had left their garbage behind. Also after Eid, when we took the road back home through the tracks in the mountains, we noticed that a lot of picnickers had thrown trash all over the places.
What a shame! Our environment is so precious: so please, people, respect it!
Anyway, thank you all for participating in our trip. We hope you will join us next time.

Why UAE?
First of all our family has been living a few years in UAE back in the 70' but unfortunately the job of Chris did not't leave us much time for leisure and, by the way, we did not own a 4x4 so we did not't much explore the country as we eventually would have wished.
Years later working and living in Saudi Arabia, we returned several times with our youngest daughter, Christina, who did not know the Emirates and discovered lots of beautiful places unknown to us too.
So last year we proposed this camping trip through the wadi region to our group as it is now, for well-known reasons, not advisable to do any more camping in Saudi Arabia.
